Willow Creek Ranch is nestled in Caledonia, Illinois, committed to raising Dexter cattle with a focus on sustainability, quality, and respect for both the land and the livestock. Founded by E.J. Dilonardo, a man who spent 45 years in the fire department, 36 years as a paramedic, and served as union president for 6 years, the ranch reflects his dedication to service, health, and well-being. E.J. continues this community service as the Fire Chief of the North Boone Fire District that also protects Willow Creek Ranch.
We utilize sustainable ranching techniques that allow our pastures to thrive and our cattle to graze naturally. Our herd is raised without the use of unnecessary antibiotics or artificial growth hormones. Instead, we focus on low-stress, mindful animal care, resulting in flavorful, nutrient-dense beef that’s as good for your table as it is for the environment.
Dexter cattle are a heritage breed known for their rich beef, manageable size, and adaptability. We selected them not only for their premium-quality beef but because they fit seamlessly into a sustainable ranching model. Each step of our process—from pasture care to animal health—is designed to protect the environment and promote ethical practices, ensuring you can feel confident serving our beef to your family.
E.J. is also the proud owner of both Willow Creek Ranch and Angler's Edge, two businesses that reflect his deep passion for the outdoors and dedication to quality. The Ranch Office and Angler's Edge are directly across the street from each other in Loves Park, Illinois. These operations showcase EJ’s commitment to serving his community—whether it’s through providing healthy, locally raised beef at the ranch or top-tier fishing gear and boat services at Angler’s Edge.
E.J.’s love for the outdoors, combined with his lifelong commitment to serving others, is evident in every aspect of Willow Creek Ranch. His passion for nature and sustainable practices is what drives his business and his mission to provide healthy, sustainably raised beef for families like yours.
